therapie LEIPZIG 2022 kicks off

From today until 26 March, therapie LEIPZIG is once again inviting visitors to the Leipzig Trade Fair. With more than 300 exhibitors on 20,000 m² of exhibition space and a congress with 200 symposia, workshops and lectures, therapie LEIPZIG is once again able to lay claim to its position as the largest product showcase and educational event in the German-speaking world.

It is at last once again possible to establish contacts in the industry, discuss professional topics, discover product innovations and benefit from advanced training at the highest level. Visitors and exhibitors alike can already feel the optimism and excitement in the air. "The enthusiasm of the industry for an in-person reunion at the Leipzig Exhibition Centre shows how important the event is for therapists, while emphasising Leipzig's role as the perfect location for the most significant industry get-together in Germany", explains Martin Buhl-Wagner, Managing Director of Leipziger Messe. "We can see that exhibitors are eager to talk directly to trade visitors, present their innovations and provide inspiration again after the month-long COVID-19 break."

Thematic Focus and Highlights

This year's event will focus particularly on the digitalisation of the therapy professions. This is reflected at both the trade fair and the congress in various lectures, seminars, forums and special exhibitions. "Everyone from market leaders to start-ups will be demonstrating the immense range of opportunities offered by digitalisation in all areas of daily therapy work, from new software for practices and new digital training equipment, apps and therapy concepts to the integration of telematic infrastructure", explains Birgit Mücklich, Project Director at therapie LEIPZIG. "Digitalisation is particularly prominent in the neurorehabilitation sector. Here, visitors can experience impressive digital developments with presentations of innovative robotic, virtual-reality and computer-assisted therapy equipment and methods."

One of the numerous highlights at the congress is a keynote lecture on salutogenesis in competitive sports by Dr Robert Percy Marschall, Team Physician at the Bundesliga football team RB Leipzig. Using examples from the RB Leipzig team, he will be examining a preemptive and holistic approach to the prevention of sports injuries in competitive sport.

At therapie LEIPZIG, highly topical professional and health policy discussions will also be taking place. At an event by the German Federation of Therapeutic Product Associations (SHV), chairpersons of SHV member associations will be answering current questions around politics in therapy professions. At the World Physiotherapy panel discussion, international physiotherapy representatives will be giving an international viewpoint on the issue of founding a chamber of therapists while experts from health and politics will gather at the Hitzeforum (forum on global warming) to look at the question of how we need to change our behaviour to adapt to health risks from heat in both an individual and a social context.

To round off therapie LEIPZIG, there will be comprehensive, interdisciplinary programme items such as the Central German sports medicine conference "Mitteldeutsche Sportmedizintage" organised by the Saxony Association of Sports Physicians (SSÄB) and the live operation course "Physio meets OP".

Live Streams and Media Library

Selected programme highlights from the trade fair and congress will be streamed live and free of charge and can be watched after the event in the media library.
