Topics in the spotlight at this year's event include geriatric medicine and neurorehabilitation. Digitisation is a subject that affects all areas of daily therapy practice and therefore also plays a central role at both the conference and the trade fair. The leading national trade fair reflects the full scale of digitisation in the therapy sector. Market leaders as well as start-ups will be presenting digital solutions and concepts to demonstrate how "Better.Support" can be put into practice digitally.

Politically Topical Opening Event: Opportunities and Risks in Health Care in 2023

The congress at therapie LEIPZIG 2023 will open with a high-profile panel discussion led by the German Society for Medical Rehabilitation (DEGEMED). Current challenges faced by the sector will be discussed together with representatives from the federal government, the Federal Association of Medical Rehabilitation Centres for Outpatients (BamR), the Federal Association for Geriatric Medicine and the German Society for Physical and Rehabilitative Medicine (DGPRM), as well as the German Federation of Therapeutic Product Associations (SHV). These challenges include the growing shortage of skilled professionals, as well as the general insecurity concerning energy price increases.

THERAMotion, one of the most modern neurorehabilitation clinics, is offering insights into its day-to-day treatments on all three days of the event and will be bringing along patients, therapists and therapy equipment. Live demonstrations with patients will show how robotics and computer-assisted treatments can be used in holistic, motor and cognitive rehabilitation. At two guided sessions per day, visitors can experience the processes implemented in this simulated clinic, ask questions on managing a practice and find out all about the benefits of the latest, evidence-based therapy methods.

Geriatric Medicine Is a Central Topic

Therapy clinics are already feeling the effects of demographic change. This situation will be comprehensively examined at the therapie LEIPZIG 2023 trade fair and congress. Numerous exhibitors at the trade fair are presenting innovative concepts and equipment designed to treat geriatric patients. The congress will address the necessity of cooperation within an interdisciplinary team of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, care staff and doctors.
