Record attendance: therapie LEIPZIG impresses visitors with variety and innovation
From 8 to 10 May 2025, therapie LEIPZIG set new standards and attracted 19,400 trade visitors. With 394 exhibitors, a unique blend of interactive trade fair formats, live presentations, networking opportunities and a diverse training programme at the congress, it offered an impressive experience.
“We are delighted with the strong growth in visitor numbers, which follows the increased commitment of the exhibitors – a clear sign of the appeal and relevance of therapie LEIPZIG,” says Martin Buhl-Wagner, Managing Director of Leipziger Messe. “Together with our exhibitors, we were able to unveil an unprecedented variety of new products, innovations and inspiration for therapeutic practice this year.”
Leipzig once again became the central meeting point for the industry – a place where current developments are not only visible, but also actively shaped.
Therapy in transition – solutions for future practices
“The last few days have been an impressive demonstration of how much the therapy industry is changing – and how diverse the answers to its current challenges and opportunities already are. The potential of new technologies was especially evident in the area of digitalisation: They reduce workload, increase efficiency and open up new paths in patient care. therapie LEIPZIG is a glimpse of what the healthcare of tomorrow could look like,” says Birgit Mücklich, therapie LEIPZIG’s Project Director.
The trade fair made the digital transformation in therapy tangible. Numerous exhibitors provided insights into the current state of digitalisation – from connecting to the telematics infrastructure and networked training devices to apps for diagnostics and aftercare. Progress in the field of robotics was particularly striking: robot-assisted training showed how modern technologies are changing therapeutic work while creating new opportunities for greater patient proximity and effectiveness.
The flow of visitors and the high level of professional qualifications of the audience ensured that exhibitors were noticeably satisfied. Around 90 per cent of exhibitors achieved their trade fair goals and have stated that they will also take part in therapie LEIPZIG in 2027.
Knowledge platform with a vision
The accompanying congress offered space for in-depth discussions and new ideas: 2,480 participants took the opportunity to attend the certified training programme and discussed the latest scientific findings and pioneering therapeutic approaches across more than 150 lectures and seminars. The interdisciplinary focus, which offered scope for a change of perspective and promoted dialogue between professional groups, was particularly well received.
Professional policy, current and personal
therapie LEIPZIG 2025 also played an important role as a stage for professional policy At the well-attended “SHV konkret” dialogue format, the chairs of member associations of the umbrella organisation Spitzenverbands der Heilmittelverbände (Therapeutic Products Associations (SHV)) entered into a direct exchange with the audience – about current challenges and key professional policy issues. There was a particular focus on the contents of the coalition agreement that are relevant for healthcare providers and the associated expectations for the coming years.
“The keen interest and lively dialogue proved how important formats like “SHV konkret” are for our professional group,” says SHV chair Andreas Pfeiffer. “It was a real success for us – with a constructive, open eye-to-eye dialogue. There’s no place like therapie LEIPZIG for formulating collective goals and setting the agenda.”
The next event will be therapie DÜSSELDORF from 19 to 20 September 2025. The next therapie LEIPZIG will take place from 22 to 24 April 2027 at Leipziger Messe.
