therapie LEIPZIG 2025: Leipzig as a centre of modern neurorehabilitation
How does rehabilitation for neurological diseases work? Find out at therapie LEIPZIG 2025 from 8 to 10 May. This year, neurorehabilitation will be even more at the heart of the event as a showcase for innovations and new findings. The trade fair and congress will feature an expanded programme – from specialist lectures to live demonstrations with robotics, virtual reality and digital therapy solutions.
Hands-on neurorehabilitation – Europe’s largest special show on neurorehabilitation, the “live PRAXIS neuroreha” in Hall 1. THERAMotion, one of the leading practices for neurorehabilitation, will be showcasing its operation for three days. Patients, therapists and state-of-the-art therapy equipment are coming to Leipzig all the way from Schweinfurt. “Our aim is to make the possibilities of modern neurorehabilitation tangible and visible. We show how robotic, computer and device-supported treatments in combination with other therapeutic approaches make the training of everyday skills – from gripping functionality to walking ability – efficient, motivating and promising. Our aim is not only to improve the quality of life of those affected, but also to enable them to participate actively and independently in family life, the social community, work and leisure. This is precisely why we are making these therapy options tangible at the special show,” explains Maik Hartwig, owner of THERAMotion.
A special exhibition area will complement the special show and present the latest rehabilitation equipment for neurological and neuro-orthopaedic treatments. A particularly large number of international companies, including exhibitors from Poland, Austria, Spain, France and Israel, will be showcasing their solutions here.
Therapy between aspiration and reality
To mark the Day against Stroke on 10 May, therapie LEIPZIG is sending out a strong signal with a panel discussion featuring top-notch speakers. Together with the German Stroke Foundation, experts from the fields of medicine and therapy will discuss whether the current reimbursement structures are suitable for implementing evidence-based neurological rehabilitation across the board – or whether reforms are urgently needed. Topics such as the role of guidelines in acute and rehabilitation care and the quality assurance of the therapy will take centre stage.
Specialist presentations on neurorehabilitation
Neurorehabilitation also plays an important role in the therapie LEIPZIG congress with more than 20 specialist presentations. The German Society for Neurotraumatology and Clinical Neurorehabilitation (DGNKN) and the German Society for Neurorehabilitation (DGNR) are once again offering advanced training seminars. The topics range from the treatment of Parkinson’s disease to neuropsychological principles for occupational therapists and evidence-based motor rehabilitation after a stroke.
Training conference of the Bobath Association
On 9 and 10 May, the Bobath Association’s training conference will take place for the first time at the same time as therapie LEIPZIG. The interdisciplinary specialist meeting is aimed at Bobath therapists, physicians and carers. Key topics include early childhood development prognoses and diagnostics, promoting movement and perception in children with neurological impairments and the care of children and adolescents with cerebral palsy.
