therapie LEIPZIG is Back, Live on the Exhibition Grounds

From 24 to 26 March, physio-, ergo-, sports and speech therapists, as well as trainers in rehabilitation and health sports will be getting together for the 11th edition of therapie LEIPZIG. After a three-year break due to the pandemic, the industry is looking forward to meeting personally once again at the Leipzig Exhibition Centre. The trade fair will feature both market leaders and start-ups presenting product innovations and industry trends, while the broad focus of the congress programme, with around 200 symposia, workshops and lectures, will offer certified and practice-oriented training in combination with interdisciplinary exchanges of experiences.

"We are optimistically looking forward to March, and are confident that therapie LEIPZIG, Germany's most important industry get-together for the entire therapy and rehabilitation sector, will be able to take place again after the three-year break due to the pandemic", explains Project Director Birgit Mücklich. Personal exchange is at the heart of therapie LEIPZIG. Panel discussions, expert lectures, seminars, workshops with practical exercises and action areas invite visitors to test products, participate and try them out. The congress that will be taking place alongside therapie Leipzig is the largest further education event in the German-speaking world for physio-, ergo-, sports and speech therapists. "therapie LEIPZIG offers a comprehensive market overview and features educational events of the highest quality. We have worked closely with the professional and trade associations involved to once again put together an ambitious and varied congress programme this year", Birgit Mücklich adds.

Opening Event on Health Policy

The opening event at therapie LEIPZIG 2022 will be a panel discussion by the German Society for Medical Rehabilitation (DEGEMED) together with the Federal Association of Medical Rehabilitation Centres for Outpatients (BamR), the Federal Association for Geriatrics, the German Association of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine (DGPRM) as well as the German Federation of Therapeutic Product Associations (SHV). Against the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic and the stress test it caused for the German health system, there will be a debate about how resilient and crisis-resistant the health system is and how well prepared we are for pandemics in the future.

Alongside the congress, the first Leipzig speech therapists symposium will be taking place, organised by the German Federal Association of Speech Therapy (dbl). A symposium on "Technical Orthopaedics and Therapy as an Interdisciplinary Approach" (Technische Orthopädie und Therapie als interdisziplinärer Ansatz) will be taking place for the first time as part of the partnership between therapie LEIPZIG and the OTWorld International Trade Show and World Congress for prosthetics, orthotics and rehabilitation technology.

However, much-loved highlights such as the 8th Leipzig symposium of the Federal Association of Medical Rehabilitation Centres for Outpatients (BamR), the seminar congress of the German Association of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine (DGPRM) and the Central German Sports Medicine Conference, organised by the Saxon Association of Sports Physician (SSÄB), will also be on the agenda.
